  • Tallulah CBD was established in 2019 by Ashley Guy. On its 5th year in the business they already achieved their first year of recognition as being part of the Inc. 5000 list. They ranked as no. 505 on the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing businesses in 2024 and 11th in the retail industry. At age 92, Lucy Ho is still cookin’! 👩🏼‍🍳🍳 | Tal Dem

  • Chinese restaurateur Lucy Ho has continued to serve customers in her restaurants for over 50 years. Her food includes homemade spring rolls, sweet and sour pork, and teriyaki chicken. She ran over 10 restaurants, her current ones are Masa (since 2005), Azu Lucy Ho’s (since 2009), and Dao (since 2018).

  • Born in 1931 in Taipei, Taiwan, Ho moved to Tallahassee to join her husband John, an anthropology professor at FSU. At the time, Italian and Latino cuisines were the only ones in town during the 1960s. With Ho’s arrival, she introduced Chinese cuisine through her first restaurant Lucy Ho’s Bamboo Garden in 1970.

  • In addition to being a restaurateur, Ho is a talented costume designer who designed costumes for FSU operas since the late 1960s.

  • Ho is also fluent in Japanese. She received the Emperor’s Decoration The Order of the Rising Sun, Silver Rays for her contributions to relations between Japan and Tallahassee. Ho is notably supporting Japanese FSU students and the Japanese community in town.

Morgane Metraux of FSU finished Olympic debut in Paris.🏌🏼‍♀️| Seminoles

  • Florida State’s All-American Morgane Metraux finished her Olympic play in Paris with a tie for 18th place after scoring 2-under par 286.

  • Metraux competed in Paris under the Switzerland flag. She became the second player in school history to be in the top 20 in the Olympics, joining fellow Seminole Matilda Castren who finished 10th place in golf at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

  • "It was fun. I didn't expect it at all, and apparently my whole family and friends knew all about it. They hid it really well from me. It was cool to just see her come on the range this morning." Metraux said that her family and friends were surprised and cheering for her during the final round.
