| 🐍🏌🏻 Florida A&M's golf team won its first Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) championship and will compete in the NCAA Tournament in May. | Tal Dem The Florida A&M University men's golf team has secured its first-ever Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Championship under the leadership of head coach Mike Rice, who was named SWAC Coach of the Year. On April 16, the Rattlers hoisted the program’s first-ever Southwestern Athletic Conference trophy by shooting a final round 292 (+4) to finish six strokes ahead of runner-up Arkansas-Pine Bluff at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Oxmoor Valley. This monumental achievement marks a new era for FAMU golf and underscores the program's dedication and excellence. FAMU freshman golfer Sascha Robinson led the Rattlers to victory, claiming Low Medalist and Freshman Low Medalist honors. Robinson is one of three Rattlers to make the All-SWAC First Team, joined by Miguel Illas and Jonathan Scott. FYI: The Rattlers’ last conference title was in 2021 when they won their 1st and only Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship before realigning to the SWAC the following season. FAMU’s SWAC title comes a year after winning the PGA Works HBCU National Championship.
