  • The award last October 2023 was received by Kate McFadden Designs under the subcategory “Jewelry Makers”

  • If your business falls under the subcategories for business category grant, just submit your application, maybe it’s your chance to inspire other women too. Aside from the business category, Amber Grant also offers start-up grants.

ASHLYN PUERTA

Ashlyn Puerta shines on the FSU soccer stage. | FSU News

  • Freshman Ashlyn Puerta made headlines by joining the FSU women’s soccer team as a midfielder at just 17 years old. Last April, she was reclassified which allowed her to graduate with the class of 2024 instead of 2025.

  • Last month, Puerta scored a goal against Rice University. It was the team’s goal of the game.

  • In 2009, Puerta began her soccer journey at the age of 2 while living in San Diego. She was influenced by her parents who played for Cal State Dominguez Hills, an NCAA Division II school. Their drills and 3x3 or 2v2 plays allow her to build potential.

  • Puerta then trained with boys who made her competitive and soaring to new heights. Afterwards, she pursued the desire to play at a collegiate level. Despite being one year below from high school graduation, her passion for collegiate soccer outweighed her age obstacle which made her decide to reclassify for class of 2024.

  • In 2023, Puerta played internationally for clubs in Spain and Portugal. She absorbed experience with different clubs and diverse soccer cultures.
