| 🗺️✈️ Florida Continues to Break Tourism Records. | Visit Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced that Florida continues to be the country’s premier travel destination as it once again sets record-breaking visitation numbers in the third quarter of 2024. Preliminary estimates indicate that 34.6M visitors traveled to the Sunshine State, marking a 1.8% increase over Q3 2023 and making it the highest visitation on record for a third quarter. | Florida Politics This marks Florida’s third consecutive record-breaking quarter, with 2M more visitors in the first nine months of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. Domestic travelers made up the majority, with 31.8M visitors (+1.8%), while international travel showed recovery, with 2.3M overseas visitors (+1.9%) and 582,000 Canadians (+2.5%). Total enplanements at Florida airports rose 1.3% to 25.6M, driven by growth at airports like Pensacola and Palm Beach.

| 📈 Key Highlights from the Tallahassee MSA October Employment Data. | OEV Employment: Preliminary October employment was 197,841, a slight decrease (-0.1%) from September and down -0.8% year-over-year. Unemployment Rate: Tallahassee MSA unemployment rose to 3.7%, slightly higher than Florida’s 3.5% but lower than the U.S. rate of 3.9%. Labor Force: October labor force totaled 205,528, up slightly (0.1%) from September but down -0.6% from October 2023. Earnings: Private-sector average weekly earnings dropped -0.7% year-over-year, with inflation-adjusted real earnings down -3.2%.
