DYK: In the late 1950s, King came to Tallahassee to visit his comrade in civil rights efforts, the Rev. C.K. |  | | 🙌🏻🥳 Florida A&M University (FAMU) Interim President Timothy L. Beard, Ph.D., will receive the 2025 Diamond Award for Lifetime Achievement in Higher Education Leadership. | FAMU News The award will be presented at the 10th Annual Academy of the Diamond Awards ceremony on January 25th, at the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel. The Diamond Award is one of the highest honors bestowed by the Academy of the Diamond Awards (ADA), recognizes individuals shaping education, social justice, and civic responsibility. Mark Dodd, CEO of ADA, praised Dr. Beard for his commitment to inspiring change and elevating communities through education, advocacy, and service. Dr. Beard has a distinguished career in higher education and community development, including serving as FAMU's interim president, the first African American senior administrator at the University of South Alabama, and president emeritus of Pasco-Hernando State College. Dr. Beard called his work in higher education a calling and feels honored to uplift future leaders at FAMU. He expressed gratitude to the Board of Trustees of Not Alone Foundation and the Academy of Diamond Awards for the recognition.

This year has many ground-breaking missions already on tap. Here’s a preview of what’s in store for space exploration: Increased Florida Launch Cadence - 73 launches in 2023, 91 in 2024, 2025 could break the launch record again. Jared Isaacman as NASA Administrator Starship Progress Toward Coming to KSC - The Space Force and FAA environmental impact studies results will be released in 2025. Blue Origin Launch and NASA's Escapade - Plans to launch Amazon’s 3,232-satellite Kuiper internet constellation and NASA’s ESCAPADE mission to Mars are set for Spring 2025. Axiom-4 Vast Space Station IM-2/Lunar Trailblazer - The mission is scheduled for early 2025 at the earliest. Blue Ghost Headed to Moon - Firefly Aerospace will provide a lunar lander with 10 NASA payloads, set for January 2025 or later. FRAM2 Mission - The 3-5 day mission, launching from Florida on a SpaceX Dragon, is set for Spring 2025 or later.
