🙇🏻‍♂️🫡 The Annual MLK Week – January 20th honors the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. It’s a time to reflect, unite, and take action in the spirit of his enduring message of equality, service, and hope.

🙌🏻🥳 Florida A&M University (FAMU) Interim President Timothy L. Beard, Ph.D., will receive the 2025 Diamond Award for Lifetime Achievement in Higher Education Leadership. | FAMU News

  • The award will be presented at the 10th Annual Academy of the Diamond Awards ceremony on January 25th, at the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel.

  • The Diamond Award is one of the highest honors bestowed by the Academy of the Diamond Awards (ADA), recognizes individuals shaping education, social justice, and civic responsibility.

  • Mark Dodd, CEO of ADA, praised Dr. Beard for his commitment to inspiring change and elevating communities through education, advocacy, and service.

  • Dr. Beard has a distinguished career in higher education and community development, including serving as FAMU's interim president, the first African American senior administrator at the University of South Alabama, and president emeritus of Pasco-Hernando State College.

  • Dr. Beard called his work in higher education a calling and feels honored to uplift future leaders at FAMU. He expressed gratitude to the Board of Trustees of Not Alone Foundation and the Academy of Diamond Awards for the recognition.
