It departs at 4 PM and arrives at 9 AM the next day, making a 17-hour trip. Check-in is from 11:30 AM to 2 PM for motorcycles and until 2:30 PM for other vehicles. "This service provides a one-of-a-kind travel experience – skipping the hassles of driving over 800 mi on I-95 and instead riding the train with vehicles loaded on board," Amtrak spokesperson Kimberly Woods told USA TODAY. The Auto Train offers standard coach seats with footrests and first-class bedrooms. It features a first-class dining car and lounge for all passengers. First-class riders enjoy priority boarding, plus complimentary dinner and breakfast, while coach passengers get a free continental breakfast. Coach fares on the Auto Train start at $95 per person. Vehicle rates are $155 for motorcycles, $225 for standard vehicles, and $255 for extended vehicles like minivans or SUVs. Room prices vary by type and availability.
