With longer days and spring travel picking up, new flight routes are fueling wanderlust. This year, JetBlue added 16 routes and 5 cities, making it easier to reach top destinations. San Antonio now has its first direct flight to the Caribbean, and Austin offers a budget-friendly route to Tokyo.

Here are the most notable new flight routes taking off right now:

• U.S. to the Caribbean and Latin America

  • Fort Lauderdale to Cap Haitien, Haiti: Sunrise Airways started flights on Mar. 17.

  • San Antonio to San Juan, Puerto Rico: Spirit Airlines added nonstop Caribbean service.

  • Phoenix to Mexico City: AeroMéxico began flights at the end of March.

  • New York to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic: Arajet and JetBlue launch direct flights from Newark on June 16.

  • New York to San Pedro Sula, Honduras: JetBlue begins JFK to San Pedro Sula flights in June.

• U.S. to Asia and MENA

  • Newark to Delhi, India: Air India now offers nonstop flights.

  • Houston to Tokyo: Zipair Tokyo started service last month.

  • Washington D.C. to Amman, Jordan: Royal Jordanian introduced direct flights.

• U.S. to Europe

  • Washington D.C. to Frankfurt, Germany: Air India and Lufthansa expand routes.

  • Boston to Edinburgh, Scotland: JetBlue begins service in May.

  • Boston to Madrid: JetBlue also adds flights to Madrid.

  • Denver to Peoria, Illinois: United Airlines started service on March 29.

  • Washington D.C. to San Diego: Alaska Airlines expands with this new route.
