Dynamic Doppelganger: Developing Florida’s Digital Twin. The University of Florida is leading a project to develop Florida's Digital Twin, a virtual model of Jacksonville that leverages AI and digital twin technologies to help with sustainable urban planning and decision-making. | Digital Twin

• UF researchers 🧑‍🎓 are developing Florida’s Digital Twin to test future land use and climate scenarios. The project aims to help decision-makers make data-driven choices for sustainable development. Florida legislator provided $1.75 million for the project, led by Dr. Christine Angelini.

• Researchers plan to visualize a virtual Jacksonville through augmented reality headsets.

• UF has the necessary expertise with HiPerGator supercomputer and partnerships with AI companies. The project involves collaboration from various UF colleges and research units. The Digital Twin project aims to increase sustainability and efficiency in urban planning.

• Apple is taking 45,000 square feet (4,181 square meters) in a new building in Coral Gables, a wealthy suburb just south of Miami, according to people familiar with the matter, who asked not to be identified because the plans are private.
