| 💙 Here are the highlights of the Capital City Chamber of Commerce for 2024. | CCC Last year was particularly special as they proudly celebrated 30 years. For 3 decades, they have stood as a steadfast catalyst for community development, economic growth, and meaningful partnerships. | President’s Message One of the highlights was the series of events and initiatives designed to promote local businesses and encourage economic development. Signature gatherings like: Black business month, Economic Impact Homecoming Breakfast, Coffee and Commerce, and the Advantage Conference/30 years anniversary celebration.

| 🫶🏽📋 A survey by Lending Tree revealed that over 500 businesses in Tallahassee are Black-owned. | WCTV Black-owned businesses in Tallahassee made up double the national average, but with a 3rd of the population being Black, there's still plenty of opportunity for new entrepreneurs. Lending Tree's survey found over 500 Black-owned businesses in Tallahassee. | WCTV News Katrina Tuggerson, the president of the Capital City Chamber of Commerce, said the study means things are trending in the right direction. And she gives major props to Florida A&M University. “It’s the largest Black business in the state of Florida. So if you look at what trickles down in the community that holds FAMU, it can’t be nothing but greatness,” she said. “The challenge that minority businesses have is that those families don’t have access to those financial resources for their investors to invest at a level that provides any level of significance, right?” Antonio Morris, the president of the Big Bend Minority Chamber of Commerce, said. Fun fact: Tallahassee ranks 14th in the states for Black-owned businesses.
